Gai Eaton’s Islām and the Destiny of Man is a wide-ranging study of Islām, covering all aspects that a reader would wish to know about Islām -including the Qur’ān, the life of the Prophet, Islāmic history, Islāmic law, art and mysticism.
The author treats each Sūrah of the Qur’ān as one whole unit, and provides, in simple language, a thematic explanation of each Sūrah, identifying its main theme(s), and the subtle threads of meaning and ideas that link its subject matter.
As is evident from the title, Tarsin addresses what being Muslim is like in reality, covering not only the spiritual and intellectual aspects of the Dīn, like many others have, but also the practical aspects of the Dīn, things of the nature that are relevant to Muslims’ daily lives, including their ‘Ibādāt (ritual worship).
